Gorring Hall is hotel-style lodging with an interior hall connecting 8 rooms.

Whitling Lodge is motel-style lodging with individual entries from the outside with 6 rooms.

All rooms (in both buildings) feature air-conditioning and heat, private restrooms with showers.  There is a spacious, comfortable lounge area connecting the two buildings.

The combined over-night capacity is 14 people.

Mt. Chestnut Nazarene Retreat Center‘s mission is to provide the best possible facilities, reasonably-priced, clean and comfortable. The aim is to at allow guests to focus on worship and spiritual growth.

They have an on-site chef that does a tremendous job with every meal. They welcome requests for special dietary needs.

Mt. Chestnut is northwest of Butler, PA, off US Highway 422.  It is convenient to Interstate 79, Route 8, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Structure of the retreat

Throughout the day, your companions will be…scripture, God’s creation, your journal, and prayer. There will be opportunity to meet with a director for spiritual direction and prayer.
